After attending Newbury College in Boston, Nancy went to work in retail, working in the clothing industry and ending up at the old Howland's, which later became Howland Steinbach in Tarrytown. She eventually made her way into their buying offices, but the smoky confines of an office building were not exactly what she'd hoped for.

Upon returning from her honeymoon, Charlie Senior suggested that she take over the front greenhouse and see if she could "sell a few plants". Prior to that time, the greenhouse was strictly a wholesale operation, selling to other nurseries and flower shops in the area.

The retail operation that you see today is Nancy's creation, and her talent, enthusiasm and love of working with people are evident throughout.
